Description
Description: How far can we push the boundaries of direct restoration while preserving as much tooth structure as possible? When faced with a severely damaged tooth, the challenge is to find an approach that preserves as much of the remaining tooth structure as possible while ensuring a reliable and durable restoration. This workshop on fiber-reinforced restorations will allow you to explore a biomimetic approach to restorative dentistry, where tissue preservation and the mechanical properties of materials go hand in hand. Alongside Marcia Belleflamme, Amandine Bolette, and Audrey Guéders, you will discover how fiber-reinforced composites can expand the scope of direct restorations and offer new solutions for cases of significant tooth decay. Speaker Biographies: Marcia Belleflamme’s Background: Marcia Belleflamme earned her Master’s degree in Dental Medicine from ULiège in 2013. She has been an associate professor at ULiège since 2024. Since 2013, Marcia has been working at the University Hospital of Liège. Amandine Bolette’s Background: Amandine Bolette graduated with a degree in Dental Sciences from the University of Liège (ULiège) in 2006. She then completed two additional university training programs: one in Oral Rehabilitation (2006–2010) and one in Endodontics (2010–2013). She works as a clinical instructor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at the University Hospital of Liège. She is also a lecturer and associate professor at ULiège. Amandine Bolette is co-author of the article “Glass fiber-reinforced anterior splint fixing the natural tooth: clinical case” (Kliniek, 37, pp. 129–134; 2016). Audrey Guéders’ Career: With a Ph.D. in Dental Sciences from the University of Liège, Professor Audrey Guéders has been engaged in clinical, academic, and scientific work for over 25 years, primarily in conservative dentistry and endodontics. At the University Hospital and the University of Liège, she is involved in the training of dentists and dental hygienists and conducts research, particularly in cariology, preventive dentistry, endodontics, and biomaterials for direct restorations.
