For thirty years now, I (Walter Van Breda) have been practicing restorative dentistry, always in collaboration with a periodontist. Just as the renowned journal *The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry* repeatedly emphasizes the importance of this close collaboration, we also aim to highlight its potential in this lecture.
We will clearly demonstrate that “tooth preservation” is our first choice.
If implant treatment is ultimately necessary, the periodontist will once again play a key role in preparing and finishing the implant site to ensure the implant’s longevity.
Both basic principles and sophisticated surgical techniques will be discussed:
clinical crown lengthening, bone grafting, recession coverage, orthodontic extrusion, immediate loading…
The goal is to achieve a beautiful and durable result together, aided by modern dental technology.
