Advanced Direct Composite Restorations Course: Pushing the Boundaries During this hands-on course, you will discover the possibilities and limitations of direct composite restorations. In practice, the choice between a direct or indirect adhesive restoration is determined not only by the size of the defect, but primarily by the clinical situation, the dentist’s experience, and the patient’s preferences. Because the longevity of restorations is largely influenced by patient-specific factors and there is virtually no difference in the durability of direct and indirect adhesive restorations, experienced practitioners can perform many complex restorations directly using the proper techniques. This hands-on course focuses on fabricating anatomically correct, functional, and durable bonded composite restorations, even for extensive and deep defects. The emphasis is on predictable treatment techniques that can be directly applied in daily dental practice. What will you learn during this course? During the extensive hands-on portion, you will work on various complex restorations, including: Fabricating a fiber-reinforced cantilever composite bridge in the anterior region. Restoring an endodontically treated molar with extensive tissue loss. Performing deep subgingival composite restorations. In addition, advanced restoration techniques will be covered, such as: The DSO (Deep Surface Elevation) technique. Changing dies during restoration for optimal design and contact points. Applying modern adhesive restoration techniques for complex indications. Materials and Techniques During the course, you will work with high-quality, aesthetic materials, including G’ænial A’CHORD composite, G’ænial Universal Injectable composite, Stick fibers, and fiber-reinforced composites. You will learn how to effectively combine these materials to achieve strong, esthetic, and long-lasting restorations. Upon completion, you will have the practical knowledge and advanced skills to perform even challenging composite restorations with greater confidence, efficiency, and predictability.
The participant can analyze the limiting factors in a complex direct restoration. The participant knows which materials and techniques are appropriate for complex restorations. The participant understands the DSO technique and can perform it on a phantom specimen. In difficult cases and deep restorations, the participant canand apply it to a phantom specimen. The participant can fabricate a simple cantilever direct etch bridge on a phantom jaw.
